One of my favorite things to do with my kids is to take them to museums and science exhibits. I try to show them how much fun it can be and plus they are learning. In reality, it is not so easy to get to many places with them. I work, they go to school and then they are with their dad on the weekends so finding educational things to occupy them is a bit of a challenge. Of course, I can have them read and do extra work at home but they complain so much about how boring it is. So what better way to occupy their little growing minds than to engage them in hands-on educational play at home.

In our box, we did the Volcano and the Eruption abstract art. The kids loved the Volcano. It was super simple to put together and the kids really enjoyed doing it. It was nice to see them have that sense of accomplishment after the volcano erupted. My son wasn’t interested in doing the art but my daughter loved it.
Green Kids Craft has some great monthly subscription options available. Make sure to check out all of the fun and educational things they have to offer.

For me, getting the kids away from TV and electronics is super important! I have said it before and I will say it again. They need to unplug, be kids and have fun! My son has this horrible habit of coming home from school and going right for the remote or kindle. It has gotten so bad that I started to apply a new rule of 20 minutes for electronics and an hour of TV a day. The rest of the time, they need to find other activities to occupy themselves with. They weren’t happy about it at first but they got over it quickly once they found things to do. I have been trying to have them start playing with toys a bit more but since they are getting older and it is harder to find ones that will hold their attention.

The kids had so much fun playing Fish Flips! The objective is to land the worms inside of Finneas the Fishes mouth as he turns. The game is great for both indoor and outdoor play. It comes with a cute green carry bag so you can take it on the go.
My kids had so much fun playing! My kitty even got involved as well lol. They played for almost an hour!! That totally surprised me to see how it kept them interested. This game is available exclusively at Target. So make sure to check out all of the other awesome games they have to offer.

When I was 2 my parents immigrated to America from Ukraine (former USSR). Through out my childhood my parents always spoke Russian in the house and of course I picked up on it but I wasn’t that good at speaking. However, I never learned how to read or write.
